findflicks.com, a new data-mining technology from search firm Endeca lets you stroll purposefully through the site's videos and DVDs by grouping products into specific areas, like genre or actor. In the mood for Alfred Hitchcock? Click "directors," and type "Hitchcock" in the search box: A list of 42 of the suspense master's films appears. Hoping for a kid-friendly flick? Sort the results by rating: The Birds is Hitchcock's sole PG-13 entrant, while among his four PGs is the classic Rear Window.

MazeMaster - A good site for career and employment information.  It is a Canadian based site, but the information (such as resumes, self-assessment, and job search techniques) is very good no matter where you are trying to find a job.

National Public Radio teacher kits - Are you looking for new ways to make environmental and science topics come alive for your students? Wish you could incorporate more music, cultural, and social issues into your teaching? National Public Radio has Teachers' Kits you won't want to miss. All of our kits are geared toward middle school students but the lesson plans and activities are easily adapted to both older and younger students.

Penn State Teachers Certification - The Penn State Educational Technology Certificate is designed to provide practicing teachers, nationwide, with technology skills that can be applied directly and immediately in their classrooms. The post baccalaureate credit certificate will consist of six 3-credit courses taught using a combination of CD-ROM, Web-based technologies, print, and other media to provide an appropriate and effective balance of flexibility and interaction.

Rubric Construction - Educational use of technology and global networks begs for a new type of learn, one that is not easily defined, categorized, or tested.  The most successful form of assessment for these project-based learning techniques are rubrics, with clearly defined objectives and expectations of performance.  This tool is designed for teachers who are creating web-based learning experiences for their students, such as WebQuests and ClassWebs.   Simply record your objectives and learning indicators, and the Rubric Construction Set will compose the HTML code that you can copy and paste into your education web page.
