Exploring Ancient Cultures - Exploring Ancient World Cultures (EAWC) is an on-line course supplement for students and teachers of the ancient and medieval worlds. It features its own essays and primary texts. Over time it will include chapter-length histories for each of the eight "cultures" represented: The Near East, India, Egypt, China, Greece, Rome, Early Islam and Medieval Europe. Chapters on Rome, Greece and Medieval Europe will be appearing soon.

Language Museum - They are still working on this site but - the Language Museum is a linguistic website which provides samples of 1200 languages in the world. Most languages are living, and a few languages are extinct. Each sample includes 4 parts - (1) image sample, (2) English translation, (3) statistics of speaking countries and populations, (4) linguistic classification consisting of language family and language branch. Language Museum is constructed, maintained and updated by Michael Cheung, a network engineer and linguistic amateur in Beijing, China.

MOLLI is a partnership project between the Royal Albert Memorial Musuem, Exeter and the Telematics Centre, University of Exeter. Co-funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the DfEE, MOLLI aims to extend and enrich cultural and heritage experiences in both the local and wider community to provide for lifelong learning. The project, which runs from January 2000 - July 2002 will be delivered through the use of museum objects and through participation in live events, enhanced and facilitated by a unique and comprehensive ICT service. Current exhibits include - beads, totem poles, textiles and more.

At SYSTRAN, we define Machine Translation (MT or translation software) as the translation of one human language into another human language by computer. This definition considers the grammatical structure of each language and uses rules and assumptions to transfer the grammatical structure of the source language (text to be translated) into the target language (translated text). It should be noted that SYSTRAN's MT systems are not intended to replace human translators, but are used as enhancement tools within their work.
